Sand trap

If your boat is setup with a raw-water cooling system, then boating shallow braided rivers comes with the risk of contaminating your engine with sand and debris.

The easiest way to prevent this, is to equip your boat with a sand trap.  They work by centrifugally separating heavy particles and depositing them into the reservoir at the bottom of the assembly, leaving the water clean and clear.
